FAKTOR RISIKO DIABETES MELLITUS PADA PENDUDUK PULAU GILI KETAPANG, DESA GILI KETAPANG, KECAMATAN SUMBERASIH, KABUPATEN PROBOLINGGO (Analisis Data Deteksi Dini Penyakit Tidak Menular Kantor Kesehatan Pelabuhan Kelas II Probolinggo Tahun 2012)
Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a noninfectious disease characterized by high level of blood
glucose. This disease become a public health problem because the increasing number
of the prevalence all of the world. This was a cross sectional study using the
secondary data of noninfectious disease early detection of Probolinggo Port Health
Office to the find the associations between body mass index, waist circumference,
physical activity, blood cholesterol level, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood
pressure, and family history of diabetes mellitus with diabetes mellitus among Gili
Ketapang Island people. The result shown that body mass index (OR = 24,7), waist
circumference (OR = 18,9), systolic blood pressure (OR = 8,3), and family history of
diabetes mellitus (OR = 17,8) were significants with the presence of diabetes
mellitus. In the other hand this study shown there were no significant associations
between diastolic blood pressure, physical activity, and blood cholesterol level, with
the presence of diabetes mellitus. Based on this research, it’s needed some actions to
control this disease such as increasing number of health facilities and health workers
in this island, giving information about diabetes mellitus and habituating health live
style to the Gili Island people such as making physical exercise continuously,
decreasing sugar consumption, decreasing body weight and making medical check up
continuously to Gili Island people.
