| dc.description.abstract | One of the health status of elderly which have an important role was cognitive
function. Impaired of cognitive function will result decreased ability of memory,
concentration and intellectual function, so that the changed of elderly cognitive
function in the ability to interfere with the functions of daily life and became a
trigger anxiety. Group activity therapy: reality orientation is one of the beneficial
nursing interventions to maintain cognitive function of elderly. This aimed of the
research was to analyzed the effect of group activity therapy: reality orientation
to the changed of elderly cognitive function at Karang Werda Kebonsari Indah
District of Jember. It was pre experimental research with one group pre test and
post test design. Sample the research was twenty respondents of elderly and used
purposive sampling technique. The result shown mean of respondents age was
67,15 years, 80% female (16 respondents). Data was analyzed with dependent ttest,
with
an
average
increased
was
2,65.
The
result
showed
that
p
value

0.000,

0,05.
The
conclusion
there
was
a
very
significant
effect
between
group
activity therapy: reality orientation to the changed of elderly cognitive
function at Karang werda Kebonsari Indah District of Jember. The nurse can
used group activity therapy: reality orientation to increase the cognitive function
of elderly.
