GENDER DAN PENYAKIT TUBERCULOSIS : IMPLIKASINYA TERHADAP RENDAHNYA AKSES LAYANAN KESEHATAN MASYARAKAT MISKIN (Gender and Tuberculosis : The Implication Toward The Low Acess to Health Services For The Poor)
Abstract
Nowdays main focus of health services remain in medical aspec and lack on social
issue include gender identities which are being main cause of health gap in our society. TBC is disease caused mortallity in the worldwide. The role of gender as a determinant of health status, including all aspects of TB, from case finding, diagnosis, and treatment result of TB patient. The objective of this research is analysing by gender perspective the reach of TB DOTS program from case finding, diagnosis, and treatment result of TB patient in Lung Hospital of Jember at 2010. This research is descriptive analitic method used secondary data from the report of TB DOTS program at 2010. The population of this research is people with Tuberculosis have accessed services from DOTS program. The sample of this research are man and woman patient, have been diagnosed as TB patient by docter, getting services in 2 Lung Poly in Lung Hospital of Jember in 2010. Collected data is analized descriptively with gender perspective. The result of this research shows that in TB patient finding process, woman is higher than man, but in diagnosis and treatment result of TB patient, man is higher than woman. This condition is caused by woman had stigma and low accsess and controle in managing resources for health. Gender sensitivity commitment by goverment and society is needed to the intervention both in TB DOTS program applying in the future.
