Abstract
Aim from the research entitled “Labor Absorption in Small Industry and also
Their Contribution Toward Regional Domestic Product Bruto in Bondowoso
Regency 2001-2007” is to detect the elasticity magnitude on labor absorption in small
industry sector and its contribution on PDRB in Bondowoso regency along 20012007.
Method that used in this research is descriptive method with using elasticity
working opportunity analysis to detect small industry ability in labor absorption and
proportion analysis to detect small industry constribution magnitude toward PDRB in
Bondowoso regency.
Result of this research shows that labor absorption elasticity in small industry
sector along 2001-2007 generally have 2, 58% elasticity. The biggest elasticity owned
by clothing and skin industries which have 5, 75% elasticity, metal and service
industries are 2, 78%, food and drink industries are 2, 66%, 2, 05 % on craft
industries, and 0, 93% on chemical and material that mean inelastic. High value on
elasticity means that working opportunity in small industry sector can be relied to
decry the amount of unemployment and work force growth. Small industry sector
contributed about 3, 92% toward PDRB along 2001-2007.
Based on that research the writer conclude that small industry sector is highly
prominent in labor absorption, so that needed higher priority by related resort for
small industry which finally expect to contribute higher values toward PDRB
Bondowoso.
