DETERMINAN FERTILITAS DI DESA RAMBIGUNDAM KECAMATAN RAMBIPUJI KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
The objective of this research was to find out whether there was direct
influence of education level, income, age at the first marriage, and the period of
marriage on fertility and the use of intrauterine device as well as indirect
influence of the use of intrauterine device on fertility.
This research applied inferential descriptive which aimed at making
description on situations or occurences systematically, factually and accuratelly
concerning facts and characteristics of particular areas and finding out the
influence of independent variable and dependant variable. Data analysis method
applied was Path Analysis. Data obtained in this research was primary data
through questioner and secondary data.
The results of Path Analysis showed that the variables of education level
and the period of marriage influenced fertility and the use of intrauterine device
significantly directly. In addition, it also influenced fertility through the use of
intrauterine device significantly indirectly. Whereas, the variables of income and
age at the first marriage influenced fertility and the use of intrauterine device
directly but insignificantly and influenced the use of intrauterine device on
fertility indirectly and insignificantly.
Some suggestions which can be proposed are the need of motivation for
discouraging the increase of fertility through counselling concerning Family
Planning with the slogan of Happy and Prosperous Small Family as well as
counselling concerning the use of intrauterine device conducted by local medical
officers supported by Jember District Government
