dc.description.abstractCritical thinking skills in the 21st century are currently very much needed by students. However, Indonesian students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. Critical thinking skills are students' ability to solve problems logically. The low critical thinking ability of students is caused by the lack of students getting a problem that can sharpen their thinking patterns critically through learning models. One learning model that can improve students' critical thinking skills is problem based learning. The problem based learning model is a learning model that uses authentic/real problems to gain knowledge and make decisions by solving problems and requires the ability to think critically. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the based learning model on students' critical thinking abilities. The method used in this research is experimental. The location of this research is at SMA Negeri 4 Jember with research samples from classes X1 and , namely the lecture method. Data will be obtained through post test questions which will be given to both classes. The post-test questions given were 12 questions, each with 1 indikator contained in 2 questions. The data obtained will be processed using SPSS to determine the effect of the PBL learning model. The results of this research show that the problem based learning model has an effect on students' critical thinking skills on analysis, inference and evaluation indikators.en_US
