Background and Purpose: Treatment for MDR-TB lasts approximately 2 years and is more expensive, less effective, and more toxic than drug-sensitive tuberculosis. Therefore, the treatment outcomes of MDR-TB are poor. The importance of the family's role in therapy cannot be ignored. Family is greatly influences the patient's treatment-seeking behavior. Research regarding this topic is still rare. Therefore, we are interested in examining this topic to provide an overview of the importance of family function in MDR-TB cases. Method: This research is a cross-sectional study conducted at the RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. Univariate analysis was carried out to describe the distribution of pasients' answers to each question presented in narrative form. Meanwhile, bivariate analysis using the Kruskall-Walis and Spearman statistical tests. Results and Discussion: Based on the period from April to May, we found 125 patients that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the comparative analysis showed significant results regarding the relationship between family function with treatment adherence and outcome. In the correlative analysis, a low correlation was found between family function and treatment adherence or outcome. Meanwhile, the relationship between treatment adherence and outcome had moderate correlation. This could be due to family function not being the only factor in treatment compliance. Several other factors that can influence the adherence and outcome of the treatment are side effects, perception, and knowledge. Meanwhile, treatment compliance is the main factor in the outcome of MDR- TB therapy. Conclusion: There is a relationship between family function, adherence, and the treatment success of MDR-TB patients at Dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital.en_US
