The increasing cases of MDR TB hinder tuberculosis control programs in Indonesia. The success rate for the treatment of MDR TB has decreased by 25% from 2011 to 2018. Underweight is identified as one of the contributors to unfavorable treatment outcome of MDR TB. This study aims to analyze the correlation between BMI and MDR TB treatment outcomes at dr. Soebandi Regional Hospital. This analytical observational study was conducted in 31 MDR TB patients at dr. Soebandi Regional Hospital, selected through total sampling technique. The study utilized secondary data from medical records. The univariate analysis results showed that MDR TB patients at dr. Soebandi Regional Hospital most had low BMI at treatment initiation, treatment success rate was 35,5%, largest age-group was 24-45 years old, a majority were female, and treated with individual regimens. The bivariate analysis results using fisher’s exact test showed that BMI associated with MDR TB treatment outcomes, as indicated by the p-value of 0.038. Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis patients with underweight increase the risk failed treatment by 6.8 times. Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis patients with normal BMI have a 2.93 times higher chance of successful treatment compared to underweight.en_US
