| dc.description.abstract | In psychological contexts, transsexual is someone who has performance like a
woman. They change their physic instantly using dangerous chemicals without
professional’s assist. This research has a purpose to know about body reconstruction
phenomenon in transsexual, reviewed from the health aspect at Jember district. The
type of this research is phenomenological. Data was obtained by conducting indepth
interview about the characteristic, means of reconstruction, social interaction with
social environment supported by observations and documentations. The sampling
technique used was snowball sampling and obtained 4 informans. Analized which
thematic content analysis method and also used of triangulation method and source.
The results releaved that range of informant age between 24-39 years old. The
chemical most used are silicone, use of the contraceptive pill, hormone and collagen
injections. Almost of informant reconstruct their body in the salon, and assisted by
unprofessional assist. The parts of body that reconstructed contained of nose, lip,
cheek, chin, breast, and cock. Transsexual often doing hormone injection at once a
week, taking the contraceptive pill 3-4 times a day and using silicon twice a year.
They doing it to enhance appereance and add sexual attraction. The body
reconstruction for transsexual is a symbol that can appear there are specific quality
from transsexual’s. It can also influence social interaction, as in the acceptance
within the family, the satisfaction felt by the couple, the existence of internal conflicts
on peers and also community after reconstruction. Based on these results, it is
necessary to increase knowledge about the dangers of body reconstruction with
