dc.description.abstractIncreased intraocular pressure (IOP) in glaucoma patients causes patients to complain of pain and disrupt daily activities. Stressful situations experienced, fear of blindness, lack of knowledge and communication between health workers about glaucoma will affect the thought process to become maladaptive resulting in anxiety problems in glaucoma patients. Emotional stress such as anxiety affects neurotransmitters and stimulates the autonomic nervous system and is able to increase IOP and disturbances blood flow. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and pain in glaucoma patients at dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital. The independent variable of this study is anxiety and the dependent variable is level of pain. This research is a correlational study with a cross sectional approach. Sampling using g-power application with 85 respondents. Data collection used ZRAS questionnaire and NRS questionnaire. Data analysis used spearman test with p value <0.05. The results of this study showed that anxiety were moderate and the level of pain poor. There is a relationship between anxiety and pain in glaucoma patients at dr.Soebandi Hospital (p value = 0.015, r = 0.263). The results showed that the higher anxiety, the higher the level of pain.en_US
