dc.description.abstractThis research uses a type of experimental research (quasi-experiment) with a research design using a Multiple-Group Multiple Treatment Posttest Only Design. The location of the research was carried out at SMP Negeri 7 Jember during the odd semester of the new academic year 2023/2024. The population in this study were class VII students at SMPN 7 Jember for the 2023/2024 academic year. The main data collection in this research used tests and supporting data used observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are the central tendency test, normality test and independent sample t-test. The results of data analysis to determine students' scientific reasoning skills between using structured inquiry and guided inquiry obtained an average reasoning score based on six aspects of scientific reasoning ability with both scores belonging to the good category. The results of the independent sample t test data analysis show that there is no significant difference between the use of a structured inquiry model and a guided inquiry model to improve scientific reasoning skills. Based on the description of the results of data analysis and discussion, the conclusion obtained is that science learning using a structured and guided inquiry model produces grades that are included in the good category so that it is categorized as good and there is no significant difference regarding the results of students' scientific reasoning skills tests using the structured inquiry model and guided model so that Both models are equally good at training scientific reasoning skills.en_US
