The length of study for each student is different. Bachelor degrees generally last 4-7 years, students are said to graduate on time if they graduate in no more than 4 years. There are several factors that influence a student's length of study. Factors thought to be influential are gender, GPA, major, entry route, organization and scholarships. Survival analysis is a collection of statistical methods for analyzing data with a response variable in the form of time until an event occurs. Cox Proportional Hazard Regression is a statistical method used to determine the factors that influence the response variable in the form of survival time. In the case of long-term student studies, joint events (ties) are often found, such as graduating at the same time. Ties can cause problems in parameter estimation related to determining members of the risk set. Ties can be overcome by approaching parameter estimation methods, namely the Breslow, Efron and Exact approaches. This research compares these three approaches in the case of long-term student studies. The results of this study show that the exact approach provides the best estimate with the lowest AIC value, namely 1908.24. Factors that influence the length of study for FMIPA students at the University of Jember class of 2017-2018 are GPA, major and organizational participation.en_US
