In this study, the film "Before, Now and Then" (Nana) is used as a research topic by analyzing the aesthetic value of mise en scene acting out in film scenes. The purpose of this study is to introduce and understand aesthetics as a creator of atmosphere and attraction for the public. This study uses Bordwell and Thompson's staging theory and Monroe Beardsley's aesthetic theory to analyze feature scenes. According to the results of the study, the model or style is repeated according to the same sample. It becomes a landmark, and the aesthetic value is reflected from mise en scene of the film Before, Now and Then (Nana). According to the results of the study, two elements of the concept of culture can be found in different scenes, namely the Sundanese culture (West Java) and the classical Dutch colonial style. This shows that when two concepts are applied, all aspects of mise en scene have an aesthetic value, considered through three characteristics, including unity; complexity; and intensity.en_US
