KUALITAS HIDUP WANITA MENOPAUSE (Studi Pada Pasien Rawat Jalan Puskesmas Sumbersari Kabupaten Jember)
Abstract
Menopause is a condition when woman’s menstrual period ends because
her ovaries stop producing estrogen and progesteron. The deficiency of these
hormones cause some women have menopausal symptoms that affect their quality
of life. The aim of this study was to analyze the quality of life among menopausal
women. A cross sectional study design was used in this study. The sample
consisted of 128 menopausal women who attended Sumbersari Health Care
Center during June until July 2013 and their age ranged 45-59 years old. The
subjects were interviewed by using Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) and WHO
Quality of Life BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaire. Statistics tests used for
data analysis were Chi-square Test, Independent Sample t Test, and Anova One
Way Test. The result showed 56,2% menopausal women had moderate level of
quality of life. Better quality of life was experienced by women who had high
education, did exercise regularly, didn’t have chronic disease, and had mild
menopausal symptoms. According to quality of life domain, physical domain were
better in women who had married, did exercise regularly and had mild
menopausal symptoms. The psychological domain was better in women who had
high education, did exercise regularly and didn’t have chronic disease.
Environmental domain was better in women who had high education, did exercise
regularly, and had mild menopausal symptoms. Whereas, social domain was
better in married women. Based on this study, menopausal women are adviced to
do exercise regularly so their quality of life can be improved.
