The aim of this study is to analyze the process of the conflict escalation in Tigray Ethiopia. The method used is a qualitative research by using the Protracted Social Conflict Theory. The result of this study shows that the escalation of the conflict from Ethiopia began due to the injustice and corruption done by the TPLF. Many parties tried to turn around the situation. Abiy Ahmed was elected Prime Minister of Ethiopia in 2018 becoming a hope for various parties and a threat to the TPLF as Abiy Ahmed plotted peace with Eritrea. The conflict reached its peak when Abiy Ahmed postponed the election due to COVID-19, but the TPLF continued to hold its own regional elections. The conflict then continued, but it is hoped that with this research the international realm can pay more attention to the conflicts that occur so the conflict will not continue.en_US
