dc.description.abstractThe making of an energy-efficient car prototype with a diesel motor drive is based on research on the initial stages of making a vehicle frame. The chassis also functions to keep the car rigid, rigid, not subject to bending or deformation. This study simulates static loading on the vehicle chassis design to obtain a safe limit for chassis construction. The chassis material used Al6061 and Al7075 material as a comparison and the loading given to the static load is the body loading on the rollbar 150 N, the loading on the driver's seat 560 N, and the loading on the engine mount 220 N. Static load testing uses static structural features in the Ansys simulation 2022. The simulation results show that the maximum von Mises stress occurs at the joints. Simulation results of a ladder frame type chassis with material Al6061 equivalent von-mises stress = 48.129 MPa, total deformation = 0.75129 mm, tensile stress = 40.541 MPa, compressive stress = -15.839 MPa while with Al7075 material equivalent von-mises stress = 47.602 MPa, and total deformation = 0.72851 mm, Tensile stress = 35.241 MPa, Compressive stress = -13.542 MPa. The results of the calculation of the safety factor for the ladder frame type chassis with Al6061 material = 5.7 and the safety factor for Al7075 material = 9.9. The simulation results and safety factor calculations show that the ladder frame chassis on a prototype-type energy-efficient car using Al7075 is superior to Al6061 material.en_US
