As a nurse, it’s important to have good self-confidence. A nurse also experienced mental and emotional breakdown, resulting in stress disorders. This research aims to identify the relationship between self-efficacy and nurses' work stress in the intensive care room of RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. This research used correlational descriptive with a cross-sectional study approach. It used a total sampling technique with 34 respondents. The inclusion criteria were nurses in the intensive care room of RSD dr. Soebandi Jember and willing to be a respondent. The questionnaire research instruments consist of respondents' characteristics, General Self-Efficacy (GSE), and Occupational Stress Inventory-Revised (OSI-R). Data analysis used Spearman's test with a significant level of 0.05. The result showed the average self-efficacy of nurses in the Intensive Care Room was 30.06 (±SD 5,14). All nurses experienced stress, 24 nurses experienced moderate stress (70.6%), and 10 nurses experienced heavy stress (29.4%). Based on statistical test, there is no relationship between self-efficacy and nurses' work stress (r = 0.129; p-value = 0.467. Self-efficacy of nurses close to a maximum value of 40, means that nurses have high confidence in their abilities, but the highest nurses' work stress is in the moderate category. There is no relationship between self-efficacy and nurses' work stress because self-efficacy isn't the only factor influencing nurses' work stress, there are internal factors (individual conditions) and external factors (social environment). Hospitals are expected to pay attention to the factors that affect nurses' work stress so they can reduce nurses' work stress levels and strengthen self-efficacy.en_US
