Adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic must adapt to a learning system changing to online. Changes in the learning process from face to face to changing to online will trigger anxiety. The purpose of this study was to analyze and identify the relationship between coping strategies and adolescent anxiety levels in the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri in Jember. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 189 adolescents using the proportional stratified random sampling method. A Self Rating Anxiety Scale and a Brief Cope Inventory was used to measure adolescent anxiety and adolescent coping strategies. The chi-square test was used to answer the research objectives. The results of the study showed that the most adolescent anxiety was moderate anxiety 63.0%. Meanwhile, adolescent coping strategies have the most adaptive coping strategies at 63.1%. There is a significant relationship between coping strategies and adolescent anxiety levels (χ2=17,475; p-value=<0.000). Furthermore, the relationship between coping strategies and the level of adolescent anxiety is moderate (r=-0.363). Therefore, the improvement of adaptive coping strategies needs to be optimized to prevent an increase in anxiety in adolescents.en_US
