Representation is the portion of critical practice that produces a culture within which meanings are created and handled through the act of representation. Considering how representation links meaning and language to culture, the representation theory by Stuart Hall is applied in this research to reveal the representation of anarchism portrayed by Jack as one of the main characters in the novel Lord of The Flies by William Golding. Besides, this research also focuses on the historical background of the society in the novel with the actual society condition to uncover the critical position of the author. This research uses qualitative method to analyze the collected data which needs deep analysis and interpretations of the researcher. The result of this research presents that anarchism is used to show problems in a democratic society which is shown through the forms of anarchist’s resistance against authority, representative system, and dominant rule.en_US
