Hubungan Dukungan Emosional Pengasuh dengan Harga Diri Pada Remaja Di Panti Asuhan
Abstract
Adolescents need self-confidence through high self-esteem. The period of
development experienced by adolescents is not a few who experience pressure,
one of which is the abandonment of parents to economic limitations, one of the
factors that causes adolescents to live in a social institution, one of which is an
orphanage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlatin between
caregiver emotional support and self-esteem of adolescents in the orphanage.
This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional
approach. This study uses a total sampling technique. The data was collected
using ten questions of self-esteem questionnaire (α-Cronbach 0,8587) and 33
questions of emotional support questionnaire. The data analysis used was the
Spearman Rank. The research ethics test was issued by the ethics board of the
Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Jember (No. 32/UN25.1.14/KEPK/2021). The
results showed that emotional support with a mean of 82.02 (SD = 4,897) with a
moderate category level and adolescent self-esteem with a mean of 29.45 (SD =
2.494) with a moderate category level. There is a significant positive relationship
between emotional support for rejama self-esteem at the Orphanage and the
Correlation Coefficient, which is 0.784. What we know is that the level of
emotional support affects the level of self-esteem of adolescents. Emotional
support has an influence on adolescents. Various factors, both internal and
external, can influence the level of self-esteem in adolescents. Internal factors,
namely the ability or strength that comes from within, while external factors that
come from the individual's social environment, one of which is emotional support.
Therefore, nurses or caregivers of orphanages must be able to provide attention,
care, positive things that can support increased self-esteem in adolescents.
