| dc.description.abstract | Farmers' awareness related to things that often happen is often considered less
important than the view of safety and work safety and emergencies. snake
management can reduce the number of snake cases that are fatal or reach the
stage of death. WHO has issued instructions about the first benefits of snakes that
are good and right, but in fact there are still people who use traditional medicine.
self-awareness or awareness-raising among farmers about the important things
that are really important to reduce rare events in farmers because farmers are a
group. This study aims to describe self-awareness in snake management which
includes prevention and treatment of snakes in Panti District. The research
method used is descriptive quantitative with a survey research design. This
research was conducted on farmers in Panti with a sample of 100 respondents
using cluster sampling technique. The data collection tool is in the form of a
farmer's self-awareness questionnaire in dealing with snakes that is valid and
reliable. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the
respondents are dominated by men by 85% with an average age of 41 years.
Furthermore, in this study, respondents stated that some snakes in Jember were
non-venomous, 81% of respondents said they still used 7% of wounds in the
wound area during first aid, 80% of respondents said catching snakes was not the
main thing. For treatment purposes, 81.1% of respondents took appropriate
preventive measures and 51% of respondents used modern rehabilitation methods
(puskesmas, hospitals). This study concludes that most respondents have self awareness in managing snakes, but education about health about snake bites is
needed. | en_US |
