dc.description.abstractFarmers' awareness related to things that often happen is often considered less important than the view of safety and work safety and emergencies. snake management can reduce the number of snake cases that are fatal or reach the stage of death. WHO has issued instructions about the first benefits of snakes that are good and right, but in fact there are still people who use traditional medicine. self-awareness or awareness-raising among farmers about the important things that are really important to reduce rare events in farmers because farmers are a group. This study aims to describe self-awareness in snake management which includes prevention and treatment of snakes in Panti District. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a survey research design. This research was conducted on farmers in Panti with a sample of 100 respondents using cluster sampling technique. The data collection tool is in the form of a farmer's self-awareness questionnaire in dealing with snakes that is valid and reliable. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the respondents are dominated by men by 85% with an average age of 41 years. Furthermore, in this study, respondents stated that some snakes in Jember were non-venomous, 81% of respondents said they still used 7% of wounds in the wound area during first aid, 80% of respondents said catching snakes was not the main thing. For treatment purposes, 81.1% of respondents took appropriate preventive measures and 51% of respondents used modern rehabilitation methods (puskesmas, hospitals). This study concludes that most respondents have self awareness in managing snakes, but education about health about snake bites is needed.en_US
