dc.description.abstract | Spatial ability is the ability related to space, that should be mastered by students in order to better understand the concept of building space also, spatial ability influences the overall learning outcomes of mathematics. Spatial ability is influenced by van Hiele's level of geometric thinking, namely the level of thinking of students in studying geometry which at each level requires basic skills to solve geometric problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to describe the spatial ability in solving tube space problems in terms of van Hiele's geometric thinking level of class IX students of junior high school. Data of 31 students by giving the first test, namely the van Hiele test, then the second test, namely the spatial ability test, after that six students, consist of 2 students from each van Hiele level. The method used in this research is test and interview. At level 0 (visualization) stage students can achieve 3 indicators of spatial ability characteristics, at level 1 (analysis) and level 2 (informal deduction) students only met 4 indicators of spatial ability characteristics. | en_US |
