Hubungan Gaya Kepemimpinan Kepala Ruang Dengan Perilaku Caring Perawat Ruang Rawat Inap di RS Paru Jember Pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19
Abstract
Nurse as a care provider for inpatients at hospital play a vital role during
pandemic. One of the factors that influence caring is organizational factor,
including the leadership factor. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the
correlation between head nurse’ leadership style and nursing caring behavior in
inpatient wards of Jember Lung Hospital under the COVID-19 pandemic. The
cross-sectional descriptive design with quantitative approach was used.
Leadership style was measured by questionnaire adapted from Trihastuti. While
nurse caring behavior was measured by CBI-24. Total sampling method was
used. 54 respondents were involved in this study. After all those data was
collected, kendall tau-b as a statistical analyze was carried out to finding the
correlation between two variables. Democratic leadership style was found as the
largest presentation by 73.21%, while autocratic was found as much as 26.79%.
55.56% of nursing perceive caring behavior and the 44.44% remaining perceive
less caring behavior. Based on bivariate analysis, p value of this correlation is
0.384 (p>0.05). The result is no significant correlation between two variables.
This study could used as material for consideration of leadership style according
to the wards, nurses, and conditions that occurred. So it is expected that caring
behavior of nurses could be better.
