Pengaruh Pijat Oksitosin terhadap Pengeluaran Lochea Rubra pada Ibu Post Partum di Rumah Sakit Daerah Balung Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
Lochia in post-partum mothers will cause bleeding in the mothers if it
multiplies and is not handled properly. Maintaining post-partum hemorrhage is a
significant part of treatments for post-partum mother, and the oxytocin massage is
one of these treatments. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of
oxytocin massage on the lochia rubra discharge in post-partum mothers with a total
of 21 respondents, namely 15 mothers on the control group and 6 mothers on the
intervention group. The data would be analyzed using the Independent Samples t Test
with a significant value of 0.05. The findings of this research discovered differences
on the lochia rubra discharge in the morning between the control and intervention
groups with p>0.05=0.414 and the differences on lochia rubra discharge in the
afternoon with p>0.05=0.207. Based on the findings, it indicates that there is no
significant difference between lochia rubra discharge in the morning and evening on
the control and intervention groups. Even though there is no effect in the findings of
this research, somehow there are many other benefits of oxytocin massage, such as,
accelerating uterine involution which can be seen from the reduction of fundal
height, overcoming natal and post-natal bleeding, and expediting breast milk. It is
expected for further researchers can examine the effect of this massage pertaining to
these conditions, so the various benefits of this massage can be scientifically proven
and eventually applied as alternative treatments in nursing.
