Abstract: United States formulatd a policy to get rid of President Sukarno through Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) because, President Sukarno became the stronger leader for the Third World since the Asian-African Conference has been held in 1955. Since that moment President Sukarno was seen that he was not in the same thought with America. The political thought of President Sukarno seemed to be the Non-Blok but infact inclined towards communist. It made Sukarno being the target of CIA because the United States did not want Indonesia to be involved into the communist’s influence. CIA was a secret service of America which had main activities to collect information about foreign governments, to analyze this information along with the results of the other intelligences of US intelligence to make intelligence assessments of national security that propose to the senior policy makers from the US and prevent the wide spread of international communism in the parts of the world, including in Indonesia. United States implemented a plan for the overthrow of President Sukarno by open and close way. The US Embassy in Jakarta has played an active role in these efforts through a range of motion in addition to the anti-Sukarno. The efforts that were formulated by CIA ultimately got rid President Sukarno from his position and replaced by a pro-American regime.
