United States formulatd a policy to get rid of President Sukarno through
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) because, President Sukarno became the stronger
leader for the Third World since the Asian-African Conference has been held in
1955. Since that moment President Sukarno was seen that he was not in the same
thought with America. The political thought of President Sukarno seemed to be the
Non-Blok but infact inclined towards communist. It made Sukarno being the target of
CIA because the United States did not want Indonesia to be involved into the
communist’s influence. CIA was a secret service of America which had main
activities to collect information about foreign governments, to analyze this
information along with the results of the other intelligences of US intelligence to
make intelligence assessments of national security that propose to the senior policy
makers from the US and prevent the wide spread of international communism in the
parts of the world, including in Indonesia. United States implemented a plan for the
overthrow of President Sukarno by open and close way. The US Embassy in Jakarta
has played an active role in these efforts through a range of motion in addition to the
anti-Sukarno. The efforts that were formulated by CIA ultimately got rid President
Sukarno from his position and replaced by a pro-American regime.
