Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the mathematical processing error of circle topic of student at grade VIIID of MTs Negeri 1 Jember. Error processing mathematics, is a part of Newman error analysis, namely the transformation, process skills and writing the final answer (encoding). This research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The research’s Instrument are mathematical problems and interview guide, declared valid and reliable. Sixth of student have been taken as respondent. The result show that type of mathematical processing errors is 61.25% that is larger than any other type of error. The tendency of the biggest mistakes occurred on the type of encoding and process skills. While the transformation error is relatively smaller.
