Abstract

Genjer weed (Limnocharis flava) is one of the weeds whose presence is not desired in the rice field ecosystem. Genjer weed (Limnocharis flava) that grows around cultivated plants can cause losses in terms of both quality and quantity. Genjer weed can be controlled using a plant herbicide extracted from mahogany leaves. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of plant herbicides extracted from mahogany leaves on the growth of genjer weed (Limnocharis flava). This study was conducted from March to October 2024 at the Agrotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember. The results showed that each treatment (0%, Ally 20 WG, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%) played an important role in supporting or inhibiting various physiological aspects of plants, such as the level of cell damage (phytotoxicity), vegetative capacity (number of leaves and plant height), and biomass accumulation (wet and dry weight). The application of herbal herbicide mahogany leaf extract has an effect on the growth of Limnocharis flava with a concentration of 25% giving a significant effect on genjer weeds (Limnocharis flava).
