Hubungan Work-Family Conflict dengan Stres Kerja pada Perawat Perempuan di RSD dr. Soebandi Jember

Abstract

Nurses are one of professions dominated by females and constitute the largest contribution to the total health workforce in hospitals. Married female nurses will face dual roles, namely the role of a healthcare worker and the role of a housewives. The workload and responsibilities of both roles can make female nurses vulnerable to experiencing work-related stress. Therefore, the researcher wants to determine the relationship between work-family conflict and work stress among female nurses at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. This study is a non-experimental quantitative study using a correlation research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were 113 nurses in the inpatient room of RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. The instruments used were the work-family conflict scale and the nurse work stress questionnaire. The analysis results using the Spearman rank test obtained a p-value of 0,000 (p value<0,05) and a correlation coefficient of 0,505. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between work family conflict and work stress among female nurses at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember, meaning that the higher the work-family conflict, the higher the level of work stress experienced by the nurses. This occurs because nurses cannot balance the two roles they undertake, leading to tension in both roles. If this continues to happen, it will result in work-related stress. The hospital is expected to design and implement policies to minimize the occurrence of work-family conflicts, which will subsequently impact the work stress levels of nurses.
