Abstract
Biology is a subject that studies living things and their interactions with the
environment. However, many biology concepts are difficult for students to
understand, which has an impact on their learning outcomes and critical thinking
skills. This is influenced by the use of less appropriate teaching models and a lack
of interactive media to support student understanding. One solution that can be
implemented is the Guided Inquiry learning model with the Assemblr Edu media.
Guided Inquiry encourages students to be active in finding solutions to problems,
while Assemblr Edu helps to visualise biological concepts in three dimensions to
make them easier to understand. This study aims to investigate the impact of the
Assemblr Edu media on the Guided Inquiry learning model on students' learning
outcomes and critical thinking skills. The study used a quantitative approach with
a quasi-experimental design and a nonequivalent control group design. The study
was conducted at MAN 2 Jember in the first semester of the 2025/26 academic year
with students in Year 10 as the subjects. Data were collected through pre- and posttests and observation sheets. The results of the study showed that the significance
of the cognitive learning outcome was 0.000 (<0.05), the affective learning outcome
was 0.000 (<0.05), and the critical thinking ability was 0.000 (<0.05). Therefore,
the use of the Assemblr Edu media in the Guided Inquiry learning model
significantly affects the students' learning outcomes and critical thinking abilities.
