Abstract

Classroom management is an important skill that prospective teachers must master from the beginning of their training as it involves the ability to organize the class, design learning strategies, and create a conducive and productive learning atmosphere. In the context of teaching English as a foreign language, classroom management challenges become more complex due to students' low exposure to English, ability differences in large classes, and low student motivation and discipline. This condition requires teachers to have classroom management skills that are not only basic, but also able to respond to diverse classroom dynamics. As a form of preparation for these challenges, educational institutions provide microteaching classes that allow prospective teachers to practice being teachers, students, and observers. Through this activity, they can evaluate themselves, explore learning methods, and obtain constructive feedback. However, in practice, prospective teachers often still experience obstacles such as lack of self- confidence, limited learning resources, and difficulty handling student behavior. In Indonesia, these challenges are exacerbated by the large number of students in a class, so teachers must divide their attention and energy efficiently. Therefore, early mastery of classroom management skills is essential to create an effective and enjoyable learning experience.
