Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan Pendekatan Socio Scientific Issues Berbantuan Media Wordwall Terhadap Literasi Sains, Berpikir Kritis dan Hasil Belajar IPAS SD

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model with a Socio-Scientific Issues approach assisted by Wordwall media on scientific literacy, critical thinking skills, and science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Kalitidu 1 Bojonegoro. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 30 students from class IV-A as the experimental group and 29 students from class IV-B as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included scientific literacy tests, critical thinking tests, and learning outcome tests that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and Analysis of Covariance (ANACOVA) with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results revealed that the Problem-Based Learning model with a Socio-Scientific Issues approach assisted by Wordwall media had a significant effect on students’ scientific literacy, critical thinking skills, and learning outcomes. For scientific literacy, the significance value was 0.000 < 0.05, with the experimental group achieving a mean posttest score of 24.10 compared to 19.69 in the control group. For critical thinking skills, the significance value was 0.000 < 0.05, with mean posttest scores of 26.10 and 20.83 for the experimental and control groups, respectively. For learning outcomes, the significance value was 0.002 < 0.05, with mean posttest scores of 29.61 in the experimental group and 26.34 in the control group. In conclusion, the Problem-Based Learning model with a Socio-Scientific Issues approach assisted by Wordwall media was effective in improving scientific literacy, critical thinking skills, and science learning outcomes among elementary school students.
