dc.description.abstractCreative thinking skill is crucial in the 21st century to prepare the creative, innovative, and contributing human resources in the community. However, the students’ creative thinking ability is relatively low. This research’s purpose was to study the effect of discovery learning model on junior high school student’s creative thinking ability. This research was a quasi experimental type with a non equivalent control group design located in Jember 1 State Islamic High School on the 7th grade students. Sampling used random sampling area. Analysis of research result using SPSS version 21.0 obtained a significance value (2-tailed) > 0,005, which shows that the application of discovery learning model has a positive effect on students’ creative thinking skills in sciences subjects. The research results showed that the influence of the discovery learning model was able to improve creative thinking skills starting from high to low criteria including fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The application of the discovery learning model is effective in improving students creative thinking skills.
