Abstract

This study aims to develop a local potential-based e-module using the Kahyangan Plantation area in Jember to enhance junior high school students' scientific reasoning skills. The background of this research lies in the low level of students' scientific reasoning abilities and the lack of contextual and interactive learning media. This is a development research employing the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The research subjects were seventh-grade students (class VII D) at SMP Negeri 1 Panti. Data were collected through validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests using validation sheets, observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pretest–posttest instruments. The results indicate that the developed e-module achieved a high validity score of 85%, a very high practicality score of 92%, and a moderate effectiveness score with an N-gain of 0.60. Students' responses to the e-module were also categorized as very positive. The integration of local potential has proven effective in creating contextual and engaging science learning while enhancing students' scientific reasoning. This e-module has the potential for further development across different subjects and education levels, and it can serve as a tool to promote 21st-century skills such as critical thinking and environmental awareness.
