Peranan Organisasi Aisyiyah dalam Bidang Pendidikan Tahun 1917-1942

Abstract

Abstract This research discusses the role of Aisyiyah organisation in improving education for women in 1917-1942. The purpose of this research is to examine in depth why the Aisyiyah organisation fought for education for women in 1917-1942 and to examine in depth how the Aisyiyah organisation acted in advancing education for women in 1917-1942. The method used is the historical research method which includes heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The result of this research is that the increase in education for women carried out by the Aisyiyah organisation was motivated by the dominance of custom and religion, social stratification, and ethical politics. The actions and efforts of the Aisyiyah organisation in the field of education were carried out by establishing educational institutions, forming a women's student organisation, and sending delegates to make speeches representing the Aisyiyah organisation at the 1928 Congress which clearly discussed the importance of education
