Identifikasi Morfologi dan Pemanfaatan Bambu (Bambusa sp.)  di Daerah Aliran Sungai Marmoyo, Jombang serta Penyusunannya Sebagai Buku Panduan

Abstract

Bamboo (Bambusa sp.) is a plant of the Poaceae family that plays an important role in the ecological and economic aspects of the community. The Marmoyo River Basin in Jombang Regency has quite abundant bamboo growth, but information on its morphological characteristics and potential uses is still limited. This study aims to identify the morphological characteristics of bamboo, determine the types of bamboo found in the Marmoyo River Basin, analyze its potential uses, and compile a bamboo identification guidebook as an educational and informational medium. This study uses a descriptive exploratory method conducted along the Marmoyo River Basin, Jombang Regency. Sampling was carried out using the exploratory method by observing the morphological characteristics of bamboo including root type, shoot color, shoot surface, number of clumps, branching model, type and color of stem sheath, and leaf size. Data on bamboo utilization were obtained through semi-structured interviews with local communities and validated using source triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed that there are four types of bamboo, namely Bambusa blumeana with 145 clumps, Bambusa vulgaris var. striata with 6 clumps, Gigantochloa apus with 23 clumps, and Dendrocalamus asper with 17 clumps. Bamboo in the Marmoyo River Basin is used as building materials, handicrafts, fishing tools, fences, and food ingredients in the form of bamboo shoots. In addition, bamboo functions as an erosion barrier, water conservation, and natural biofilter. The validation result of the guidebook is 86% with a feasible category
