Perkembangan Kemampuan Membaca Dasar Pada Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun di RA Perwanida 04 Sempolan Kecamatan Silo Kabupaten Jember

Abstract

Basic reading is fundamental to be developed in early childhood, because basic reading skills are the main reference for children to be able to learn various kinds of knowledge. The purpose of this study is to describe the development of basic reading skills in children aged 5-6 years at RA Perwanida 04 Sempolan, Silo District, Jember Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects observed in this study were 24 class B2 students. Based on the test results regarding basic reading skills, 6 children were found who could not read basic, including children who only recognized vowels, children who did not recognize the first letter of the name of an object, children who could not mention pictures that had the same sound or letter. So it can be concluded that children are not yet fluent in reading because they have difficulty identifying letters.
