Abstract

This development research is based on the results of an analysis of 21st-century skills, commonly referred to as 4C. These skills can encourage students to innovate and be competitive in school and the workplace. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of STEM EDP-based learning tools.This research is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were fourth-grade students at SDN Tempeh Tengah 01. The data analysis used for validity was Valpro, the data for practicality used the percentage from the response questionnaire, while effectiveness was analyzed through a comparison of pretest and posttest results using the N-gain test. The results of the study indicate that the STEM EDP-based learning tools developed are highly feasible, with scores of 89.16 for lesson planning, 87.50 for teaching materials, 83.66 for student worksheets, and 85.00 for evaluation instruments. The tools were also deemed practical based on student response questionnaires with an average percentage of 92.96% and observations of the implementation of the tools at 95.34%. In addition, there was an increase in critical thinking skills as shown by the pretest and posttest results with a high increase category in the N-gain test results with a score of 0.85. Thus, the STEM EDP-based learning tools are feasible to be used as an alternative in IPAS learning to support the development of critical thinking skills in elementary schools.
