dc.description.abstractIn the 21st century, education is expected not only to emphasize students understanding of scientific concepts but also to develop their scientific reasoning skills. Findings from preliminary studies conducted in several senior high schools in Jember Regency showed that students' scientific reasoning skills were still not optimal, particularly in correlation reasoning and control of variables. Teachers also stated that physics learning had not been integrated with local wisdom, resulting in limited opportunities for students to develop scientific reasoning through contextual learning. Therefore, a learning model that integrates scientific concepts with local culture is needed, one of which is Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on Gudang Atag ethnoscience. This study aims to analyze students' scientific reasoning skills on heat transfer material through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model based on Gudang Atag ethnoscience. This study employed a qualitative approach using a single case study design. The participants were 28 eleventh-grade students at SMAN Rambipuji. Data were collected through students' worksheets (LKS), observations, interviews, and documentation using Creswell's data analysis model. Based on the results of the study, students' scientific reasoning skills implemented through the PjBL model tended to be in the good category. Conservation reasoning, proportional reasoning, and probabilistic reasoning fell into the good category, control of variables, and hypothetical-deductive reasoning fell into the very good category, while correlation reasoning fell into the poor category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that students were able to maintain explanations, compare observations, control of variables, and draw conclusions based on evidence, but were still less able to analyze cause-and-effect relationships and formulate as well as test hypotheses.
