Abstract
The ability to argue and communicate effectively orally is crucial in
navigating the challenges of the 21st century. Twenty-first-century learning
competencies are achieved through a transformative paradigm adopted by
educators in the learning process. Education is essential for developing relevant
21st-century skills that meet students’ needs, including critical thinking, creative
thinking, communication, and collaboration. The lack of students’ ability to argue
and communicate orally is addressed through the implementation of the Brain
Based Learning model. This model is student-centered and involves all brain
functions, making complex learning material more engaging and enjoyable. This
study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental research design to analyze the
effect of a brain-based learning model assisted by ClassPoint and Educaplay media
on high school students’ argumentation and oral communication skills in relation
to circulatory system material. The data were analyzed using ANCOVA for
argumentation skills and an independent samples t-test for oral communication
skills. The results indicated that the significance values for argumentation skills
and oral communication skills were 0.048 (p < 0.05) and 0.044 (p < 0.05),
respectively. Therefore, it was concluded that the implementation of the brain
based learning model assisted by ClassPoint and Educaplay media had a
significant effect on students’ argumentation and oral communication skills.
