Peran Home Industry dalam Peningkatan Kesejahteraan Hidup Masyarakat Kelurahan Mangli Kaliwates Jember

Abstract

Home industry is one form of community economic enterprise that plays an important role in supporting the fulfillment of daily needs and improving community welfare, especially in the informal sector. The existence of a home industry functions not only as a source of income, but also as a means of social and economic empowerment for the community. This research was motivated by the role of a home industry that is able to survive and develop while involving the surrounding community in its production activities. The problem in this study is how the role of the Home Industry at UD. Kerupuk 212 improves the welfare of the community in Mangli Village, Kaliwates District, Jember Regency. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of the Home Industry at UD. Kerupuk 212 in improving community welfare. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants consisted of six (6) people, including the business owner and community members involved in the home industry. Data validity was tested through prolonged observation, increased persistence, and triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the Home Industry at UD. Kerupuk 212 has an important role through facilitative, educative, representative, and technical roles. These roles have an impact on increasing community income stability, encouraging mutual learning processes among community members, and maintaining active participation in social activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the Home Industry of UD. Kerupuk 212 does not only function as an economic business unit, but also as an empowerment medium that contributes to improving the welfare of the community in Mangli Village.
