Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of loose part media and the creativity of group B children at Darus Sholah Kindergarten. Loose-part media is a learning medium that is modified, combined, and separated according to the wishes and desires of the students. The use of loose-part media can help children explore and imagine according to their individual ideas and abilities, thereby developing their creativity. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The subjects were 38 group B children, selected using a non-probability sampling technique with a purposeful sampling technique. The instruments used in this study included a children's creativity observation sheet and an interview guide questionnaire on the use of loose-part media. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test with the help of SPSS version 27. The results showed a significant relationship between loose-part media and the creativity of group B children, as indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.421 for the theme of celestial objects and a significance value of 0.008. Meanwhile, for the weather theme, the correlation coefficient was 0.456 with a significance level of 0.04. This means that the more children are involved in playing using loose-part media, the higher their level of creativity. Therefore, the use of loose-part media can be an effective alternative learning medium for stimulating creativity in early childhood.
