dc.description.abstractThe RSUD Haji Building Construction Project is projected to experience a delay with a progress deviation of -16.37%. Referring to the initial planned schedule of 145 calendar days, the project completion is estimated to take up to 171 calendar days if left to proceed without any acceleration measures. To address this issue, this study aims to identify the remaining work packages on the critical path, implement the Fast Track acceleration method assisted by Microsoft Project 2016 software, and analyze the impact of the schedule compression on workforce allocation. The Fast Track method was implemented by modifying the dependency logic between activities from Finish-to-Start (FS) to Start-to-Start (SS) without reducing the normal duration of each individual work item. The results indicate that the optimum acceleration scenario was achieved by simultaneously integrating overlapping modifications in the main structural works, namely the reinforced concrete structure, steel structure, and roof. Through the implementation of this acceleration scenario, the completion duration was successfully compressed, thereby reducing the remaining project delay to only 15 calendar days. Furthermore, the Resource Graph analysis revealed that the schedule compression triggered simultaneous resource overallocation, specifically within the concrete and steel structure crews, with the maximum requirement surging from a normal limit of 15 workers to 24 workers. Considering that this project utilizes a Lump Sum contract system, it is imperative for the contractor to mobilize an additional crew of 9 workers or expand the subcontractor's capacity during the critical periods to ensure the acceleration is realized without causing scheduling failures in the field.
