| dc.description.abstract | This research is an experimental that aims to find out whether there is any positive significant effect of using the Webtoon applications on junior high school students' reading comprehension. Two classes were selected as the respondents from the existing nine classes using the cluster random sampling method. In determining the experimental and control groups, the researcher took two classes using lottery from the homogeneous population. Class VII H was selected as the experimental group and VII I as the control group. In this research, the researcher using Webtoon as the reading material in teaching reading comprehension to the students of the experimental group. The implementation of the treatment uses three – phase technique as its procedure, there were pre – reading activities, while reading activities, and post – reading activities. This research was conducted on September 20th – October 9th, 2024. Before chose the two classes, the researcher analyzed the English reading comprehension previous score by using ANOVA to determine the homogeneity of the population. Both of groups, the experimental and control groups were given different treatments four times before the post test. Before administering the post test, the researcher conducted a try out test to the class which does not belong either to the group, that is VII E. In data collection, researchers conducted reading comprehension test – multiple choice form to find out whether there is any positive significant effect of using the Webtoon applications on Students' Reading Comprehension. Based on the results of the calculation of students' post – test scores, it is known that the p – value is 4.136. Then, it consulted with the p – table of 5% level and Df = 66.
