Abstract
This study focuses on the challenges and benefits faced by EFL teachers in
teaching grammar using Quizizz. Nowadays, the implementation of digital
technology is rapidly developing in the learning process (Heilporn et al., 2021).
Various technology-based learning media have been widely implemented by teachers
in classroom learning. However, in the implementation, teachers still experience
challenges related to technical aspects. Therefore, this study explores the challenges
and benefits of EFL teachers in teaching grammar using Quizizz.
This study was designed as a qualitative case study. It was conducted at an
Islamic senior high school in East Java, Indonesia. This school was chosen because
the English teachers there had previous experience using Quizizz in grammar
learning. This made the school relevant to the topic of this study, as it provided an
opportunity to observe the use of technology-based learning media in English
language teaching practices in the classroom. I also obtained permission from the
principal and English teachers to conduct research at this school. The participants in
this study are English teachers who have experience teaching using Quizizz. Data
was collected through interview and observation. In the interview, I collected data
from teachers about the challenges and benefits they experienced in teaching
grammar using Quizizz. In addition, I also directly observed the use of Quizizz in
classroom learning.
