Abstract
Pasar Ambulu, located in Ambulu District, Jember Regency, is a
traditional market that plays a vital role in the distribution of basic needs and
agricultural products for the local community. However, several issues have been
identified, including the non-compliance of existing facilities with the Standar
Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 8152:2021 on Traditional Markets and the absence of a
revitalization plan from the local government. Therefore, this study aims to
analyze the conformity of Pasar Ambulu's facilities with SNI 8152:2021,
formulate a trade zoning plan, and visualize a redesign concept for Pasar Ambulu
in the form of a blockplan.
This research employs a mixed-method approach, combining descriptive,
comparative, site planning, and Market Basket Analysis (MBA) methods. Primary
data were collected through field observation, interviews, questionnaires, and
documentation, while secondary data were obtained from literature reviews and
policy regulations. Site planning was used to analyze physical conditions and user
activities. The MBA method was applied to identify purchasing patterns based on
buyer transactions.
The results show that 14 required facilities are currently unavailable at
Pasar Ambulu, including a verification post, trade zoning, loading/unloading
area, handwashing stations, breastfeeding room, prayer room, multipurpose area,
health and security posts, smoking area, green space, evacuation route, and fire
extinguishers. Through MBA analysis, it was found that certain products, such as
dry food and fresh food, are frequently purchased together, forming the basis for
the proposed zoning arrangement. The market design plan was developed based
on site and space analysis. The revitalization of Pasar Ambulu is necessary to
improve user comfort, market function efficiency, and compliance with national
standars. The findings are expected to serve as a recommendation for the local
government in efforts to revitalize Pasar Ambulu.
