Pengaruh Model Kooperatif Tipe Scramble Terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Permulaan pada Siswa Kelas II SDN Tegal Besar 02 Jember

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low proficiency in early writing skills among second-grade students at SDN Tegal Besar 02 Jember, primarily attributed to conventional pedagogical approaches. The primary challenges identified encompassed students' difficulties in letter formation, inconsistent capitalization, and syntax structure in simple sentences. This research aimed to examine the effect of the Scramble cooperative learning model on students' early writing skills. A quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, was employed. The research sample comprised 58 students distributed into an experimental class (IIA) and a control class (IIB). Data collection techniques included observation, written tests, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using an independent sample ttest and a relative effectiveness formula. Based on the results of this research, there is a significant effect of the Scramble learning model on the students' early writing skills, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a calculated t-value exceeding the critical t-table value (3.558 > 1.673). The empirical findings of this research further indicate that the relative effectiveness of this model reached 43.17%, falling within the moderate category. Consequently, it can be concluded based on this research data that the Scramble cooperative learning model is highly effective in enhancing students' learning motivation and their cognitive ability to construct words and sentences accurately and meaningfully.
