Abstract
The 4B feminist movement in South Korea and the 6B4T feminist movement in China share a similar orientation but have developed differently in the two countries. This study aims to compare the feminist movement in South Korea and China. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach. The theories and concepts employed in this study include multicultural feminist theory, political process theory, the concept of norm localization in transnational norm diffusion and the concept of intersectionality. The findings reveal that the differing contexts shaping the experiences of South Korean and Chinese women give rise to distinct forms of feminist resistance in each country. The experiences of South Korean and Chinese women are not homogeneous, as they are shaped by the intersections of gender, culture, economics, reproductive pressures, and the specific political systems of each country. The intersections among these factors shape the unique experiences of South Korean and Chinese women and give rise to resistance in the form of a distinct feminist movement. Differences in political context subsequently influence the ways in which the 4B feminist movement in South Korea and the 6B4T feminist movement in China mobilize support and ensure their continued existence.
