Abstract
This study aimed to describe the development process and outcomes of the “Angle Quest” educational game developed using GDevelop to improve students’ mathematical reasoning ability on the topic of angle relationships. The learning media was developed to provide a more interactive learning alternative that helps students understand geometric concepts while fostering their mathematical reasoning skills. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D development model, which consists of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research trial subjects were 31 students of class VII B at SMP Negeri 4 Jember. The research instruments included validation sheets, user response questionnaires, and mathematical reasoning ability tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests, The results showed that the “Angle Quest” educational game met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The validity of the media obtained a validity coefficient of 0,95, which was categorized as very high. The practicality of the media, based on user response questionnaires, achieved a percentage of 81,6%, which was categorized as good. The effectiveness of the media was indicated by an average N-Gain score of 0,56 or 56%, which was categorized as moderately effective. The results of the Paired Samples T-Test showed a significance value of 0,000<0,05, indicating a difference in students’ mathematical reasoning ability before and after using the “Angle Quest” educational game. Furthermore, the average percentage of students’ mathematical reasoning ability increased from 34,95% to 79,97% following the use of the educational game. Therefore, the “Angle Quest” educational game developed using GDevelop met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness and is suitable for use as learning medium on the topic of angle relationships.
