Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Berbantuan Assemblr EDU untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Metakognitif Siswa

Abstract

This study aimed to develop Assemblr EDU based learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ metacognitive skills. This research is motivated by the low level of students’ metacognitive ability and the limited use of interactive technology based learning media in the classroom especially Assemblr EDU. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model, which are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject were 34 students of class XI.2 in SMAN 2 Jember. The data were collected through validation sheets, questionnaires, metacognitive ability test (pretest and posttest), and analyzed using validity, practical, and effectiveness analysis. The data were using validity analysis by a Math Teacher and a Math Lecturer, practically and effectiveness analysis with SPSS including normality test and paired sample t test. The result showed that the development media obtained a validity score of 3.83 (97%) which is categorized as valid. The practical level based on students’ response questionnaire reached 97.18% categorized as very positive. The results of the SPSS analysis showed that the data (pretest and posttest) were normally distributed. Furthermore, the hypothesis test (paired t test) result showed a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05. Indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest score so that the learning media is considered effective in enhancing students’ metacognitive ability. The mean score increased from 49.91 to 85.44 indicating an improvement in students’ metacognitive ability. In conclusion, the Assemblr EDU based learning media is valid, practical, and effective in improving student’s metacognitive abality and is feasible to be implemented in learning.
